The Three Militant Faces of Islam, plus Murray

Those who would destroy the United States and, by extension, western civilization, are from three different Islamic sects based, primarily, in four different countries of the Middle East. They are: the Shia of Iran, the Baathists of Iraq and Syria and the Sunni of Saudi Arabia.

As we learned on September 11, 2001, the worst of the lot get their guidance from the Wahhabi clerics of the Sunni brand of Islam. We have come to know them as Al Qaeda which is a secular term meaning: “the base.” The members of the Saudi royal family and other wealthy Saudis fund Al Qaeda by buying protection from Al Qaeda disguised as charity.

While the Wahhabi are Islamic fundamentalist-reformationists to the point that they even attacked the Great Mosque in Mecca in 1979, the credit card trail left by those who attacked us on September 11, 2001, showed many purchases of pornography and liquor. So much for keeping the faith.

But the Islamic sect that attacked us first was the Shia whose members are called Shiites. In 1979, when they booted out the Shah and took control of Iran, they seized 52 American hostages and held them for 444 days.

The least religious of our attackers are based in Iraq and Syria and are controlled, of course, by Saddam Hussein and his fascist Baathist Party. The Baathists have two goals: tight internal control of Iraq and the extermination of the Jews. Saddam Hussein, who is not known for his religious beliefs, appears set on becoming the dominant figure in the Middle East by using military power (to include weapons of mass destruction) by gaining control of the oil fields of Kuwait Saudi Arabia and Iran. He already fought a war with Iran. He invaded Kuwait and probably would have invaded Saudi Arabia if the U.S.-led coalition hadn’t booted him out of Kuwait in 1991.

Here are just a few of atrocities inflicted upon us by the three militant faces of Islam:: 1972, Israeli Olympic athletes are killed in Munich; 1979, 52 American hostages held hostage 444 days in Tehran; 1983, 241 U.S. Marines killed in Lebanon; 1988, 270 people are killed when Pan Am Flight 103 crashes near Lockerbie, Scotland; 1993, Al Qaeda blows up the parking garage under the World Trade Center; 1996, they kill 19 U.S. servicemen in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia; 1998, they blow up two U.S. Embassies in Africa killing 224 locals; 2000, they kill 17 U.S. sailors on the USS Cole and, of course, on September 11, 2001, they kill over 3,000 Americans

Meanwhile, they try to undermine our resistance. Witness the recent naďve statements by U.S. Senator Patty Murray, Democrat of Washington. She credits Al Qaeda with building schools and day-care centers in poor Muslim countries and then scolds her own country by saying, “We never did that.”

Al Qaeda schools, which exclude women, have a simple curriculum: Jews are pigs and monkeys and American women routinely engage in incest with their fathers and brothers. Al Qaeda day care is designed to put post-partum Muslim women back into the fields more quickly as beasts of burden.

Senator Murray, not known for her intellect, must be unaware that the United States has been either the sole or the major source of funding for virtually every attempt to improve education, health and living conditions in the Third World. Without the Marshall Plan, the Point Four Program, the U.S. Agency for International Development, our funding for UNESCO and WHO and the outreach of our Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges which led to the Green Revolution, half the world’s population would have starved or died of disease by now.

Republican Senator Trent Lott lost his job for commenting on an election that took place when he was age seven. Senator Murray was an adult when Al Qaeda attacked us. Surely, Democrat Senator Patty Murray will win the Lenin ‘Useful Idiot’ Award for 2002.
