Uncle Sam needs you to...ah...reproduce!

This is one of those good news/bad news columns. But if you will hang in here through the bad news, there will be some good news at the end.

The bad news (unless, you are an Islamic fascist) is that Western Europe and its: Polish, Germanic, French, Dutch and Scandinavian peoples are demographic Melba Toast or, more to the point, Khubz Arabi (flat bread). Many of these countries have reached the population tipping point (and, others will shortly) that means most of their residents will be following the dictates of the Koran, rather than the Bible or the Torah.

Quoting from Mark Steyn’s America Alone: “What’s the Muslim population of Rotterdam? Forty percent. What’s the most popular baby boy’s name in Belgium? Mohammed. In Amsterdam? Mohammed. In Malmo, Sweden? Mohammed. By 2005, it was the fifth most popular baby boy’s name in the United Kingdom. Yet most Europeans weren’t even aware of the dominant demographic trend until September 11, and subsequent events in Madrid, Paris and London.”

Retired CIA analyst, Herbert Myer, writes:“Most countries in the Western world have stopped breeding…Maintaining a steady population requires a birth rate of 2.1 [per woman]. In Western Europe, the birth rate currently stands at 30-percent below replacement…The current birth rate in Germany is 1.3. Italy and Spain are even lower at 1.2…One reason Germany and France don’t support the Iraq war is they fear their Muslim populations will explode on them.”

These demographic facts of life cannot be altered by the one-percent of our population who volunteer for military service. They cannot be changed by our vast ability to defeat conventional forces or even by the un-conventional forces former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was trying to expand before the “fight-WWII-even-better” brass and defense contractors got him booted.

But the Muslimization of Western Europe does not mean that the English-speaking countries cannot defend and maintain the culture that has taken the world to new heights in science, sanitation, medicine and aviation, etc. All it takes is the Will to do so and sufficient population.

Now the good news: The countries that still have a shot at maintaining their current cultures are: the United States (2.11), New Zealand (2.01), Ireland (1.9), Australia (1.7) and Great Britain (1.6). With an average of 1.38, all the Continental members of the European Union are demographic goners. Sadly, French/English Canada, at 1.48, is probably French Toast.

Unique, at 1.32, is Japan. The Japanese do not permit immigration, have a huge and growing elderly population, and few young wage-earners to support Japan’s generous social programs. How long will the best and brightest of Japan’s youth stick around to support the dying? Clue: They’ll be heading here and already speaking English.

Indeed, if you look at the world’s strongest economies, the common thread is English. Now, the really good news: If the Islamic fascists don’t blow us up (our magnificent military is holding the line in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere), we can survive; provided, we maintain our current 2.11 birth rate and/or find ways to get our immigrants to learn English and to adopt the Anglo-American concepts of equal justice, property rights and individual freedom.

For the English-speaking nations that still have a demographic chance, Assimilation and Will-to-Resist are crucial. Sadly, the post-Christian Europeans have isolated their burgeoning Muslim populations and not insisted that they learn French or German or Dutch or whatever. More Muslims attend their Mosques than Christians or Jews attend their churches or synagogues. There must be a lesson in that.

Will-to-Resist is the final key. Having the world’s best military to keep the Islamic fascists at bay does us no good if the Congressional Lefties and the Sinistra Media don’t have the Will-to-Resist. In 2008, via the ballot box, we will see how much Will remains. Meanwhile, our brave troops will keep defending us -- until the cut-and-runners in Congress pull the plug.
