Amnesty politics: Putting children at risk

What provoked the invasion of our southern border by thousands of unaccompanied alien children? Did the U.S. government encourage the parents of these minor children to pack them off for the USA?

Here is an all too typical story from The Arizona Republic of June 20, 2014: "Fourteen-year-old Brayan Duban Soler Redando left Honduras in April after hearing a rumor that children who can make it to the U.S. are being given permission to stay so they can go to school.

"He traveled alone all the way from the village of Quebrada Maria on the Caribbean coast of Honduras, through El Salvador, Guatemala and then to Mexico. To reach Reynosa, Brayan begged for bus fare, hopped trains, walked, hitched rides, and even swam at night across a river between Guatemala and Mexico.

"But in Reynosa, Brayan ran out of money to pay smugglers to take him across the Rio Grande. And now he, like many others following these false hopes, is stuck in one of the most dangerous cities in the world, in shelters like Senda de Vida, which sits on a hill overlooking the Rio Grande in this border city.

"Shelters like this one are packed these days with migrants planning to cross the river and the United States illegally.

"They are part of an unprecedented tsunami of families and children traveling on their own from Central ’America trying to reach the United States through the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, where the Border Patrol has been overwhelmed b the surge..."

Check out this January 29, 2014, Request for Proposal advertised world-wide by the Obama Administration and uncovered by Americanthinker.com: "Escort Services for Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC): "...The Contractor shall provide unarmed escort staff, including management, supervision, manpower, training, certifications, licenses, drug testing, equipment, and supplies necessary to provide on-demand escort services for non-criminal/non-delinquent unaccompanied alien children ages infant to 17 years of age, seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year. Transport will be required for either category of UAC or individual juveniles, to include both male and female juveniles. There will be approximately 65,000 UAC in total: 25% local ground transport, 25% via ICE charter and 50% via commercial air..."

The National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers responds: “[This] is a predictable, orchestrated and contrived assault on the compassionate side of Americans by her political leaders that knowingly puts minor illegal alien children at risk for purely political purposes.

“Certainly, we are not gullible enough to believe that thousands of unaccompanied minor Central American children came to America without the encouragement, aid and assistance of the United States government."

The Obama Administration’s response to the tsunami of illegal-alien children is to send millions of American tax dollars to the Central American governments whose embedded corruption is a major reason why their citizens want to flee their borders and invade ours.

Your tax dollars are chartering airliners to fly some of the illegal-alien children from Texas to California, even to Arizona. Take that, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer! Last week, six charter flights flew illegal-alien children all the way north to Massachusetts. Playing political games with the lives of these unfortunate children drops amnesty politics to an all-time low.
