Election 2020: A Strategy Session

Satire. A middle-aged woman with a cashier’s check for $500,000,000 in her purse limped into the law offices of Dewey, Cheatham & Howe, the cover law firm for Digital Network Consultants (DNC).

"Did you bring the money?" asked Dewey, the senior partner.

"Yes, but where are Cheatham and Howe? We are paying for full service."

"Cheatham’s in Moscow and Howe’s in Teheran. You are not DNC’s only client."

"Okay. But for half a billion dollars, DNC better know how to use Social Media and the Internet to defeat our opponent."

"Well, Madam, the bad news is we looked at your party’s constituent base: African-Americans, Asians, Latinos, Academics, Big Labor, Jews, Feminists, Pro-abortionists, LBGTs, Atheists, Muslim Americans, and Gun-Grabbers. Your opponent has fractured some, but not all, of your base.

"He lowered the unemployment rate for people of color down to 5.9-percent. He has created 976,000 new jobs. His tax cuts brought back billions of dollars that were hidden off-shore. By shelving thousands of burdensome regulations, hundreds of businesses returned to the USA and thousands of new jobs have been created. Madam, as long as his economic boom continues, he will be hard to beat.

"The good news is his immigration policies are not popular with Central Americans, with liberal elites wanting cheap domestic help, and with factory owners wanting cheap labor." said Dewey.

"What about Jews, and the LBGTs?" she asked.

"More bad news. As for Jews, his son-in-law is Jewish; his grandkids are being raised as Jews. He moved our embassy to Jerusalem and backed Israel’s claim to the Golan Heights. He appointed a Gay as our ambassador to Germany and, during his TV career; he worked well with Gays."

"Any good news?"

"Yes, Planned Parenthood hates him. His stand for religious freedom has atheists hating him. For destroying ISIS, many Muslims hate him. Seventy-five percent of college professors would never vote for him and his exposure of ’fake news’ has 95-percent of the media hating his guts. Plus many suburban women think that he, along with your husband, is a male, chauvinist pig. His defense of the 2d Amendment will cost him the Gun-Grabber vote."

"What about the Youth Vote?"

"Youth always talk Socialism, but are often too stoned to remember to vote."

"With our coalition so fractured, how are we going to win?"

"Because he has no history of using the ’N’ word and because he works well with people of color, he does not fit the classic racist definition. Therefore, DNC must re-define racism. We will wage a social media and MSM campaign equating being White with being a racist. Your opponent wants America to be first among the nations of the world, we will label him as a White Nationalist Racist.

"DNC will flood Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with seemingly human ’bots’ openly and subliminally portraying your opponent and his supporters as White Nationalist Racists. DNC will produce a ’deep fake’ video showing him singing ’Mammy’ while wearing black face. The giant search engines will hide good economic news and put bad economic news at the top."

"So, White Nationalist Racism and a failed economy are what it takes for my party to win?"

"Madam, you got it. Handover the check, please."
