Save America: Senator Manchin to the rescue

For this last "Central View" of the year 2021, one might hope to write something truly profound. Sorry. The profound locker is empty; however, there are some signs of hope. For example: Wonder Wife and I just celebrated 50 years of a marriage made in Heaven.

Also, maybe by the time this column appears in print, the concept of a free-market economy may have received a huge Christmas present from Democrat U.S Senator Joe Manchin. If Senator Manchin becomes an Independent who caucuses with the Republicans, Senator Manchin can halt the Democrat’s lemming -like, Marxist-Leninist march over the cliff of political suicide and also prevent the U.S. from throwing itself on the funeral pyre of runaway Inflation. People on fixed incomes and savers of both parties will thank Senator Manchin for that.

An Independent Senator Manchin puts Senator Mitch McConnell back in the role of Majority Leader. A mixed blessing. Senator McConnell is more of a RINO whose main concern is the continued existence of the Deep State and the Washington Establishment. Even so, McConnell is better than Senator Chuck Schumer who is dancing to the drums of neo-Marxist/Leninist Left-wing of the Democrat Party.

A change of party affiliation by Senator Manchin would bring the Biden Regency’s* full-frontal assault on free-market Capitalism to a screeching halt. The U.S. Senate would return to "normal order," meaning no more shoddy attempts to run around the rules of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. Constitution with attempts to reconcile the irreconcilable.

If current reputable polling is correct, fly-over America is not buying the Biden** agenda and is turning its collective back on the Democrat Party. By turning Independent, Senator Manchin can save the Democrat Party and, perhaps, return, what used to be the party of the people, back to its more Harry Truman-like roots.

But the Democrats better hurry because the new GOP -- the fly-over America part -- is now the party of the people while the Democrats are increasingly perceived as the party of Wall Street, Country Clubs, Big Tech, Big Pharma, and the hand maidens of Beijing.

But the old-line Democrats should not worry too much. The GOP leadership in Washington has little idea who its real members are and what they believe. If a GOP-controlled House of Representatives does not elect Congressman Jim Jordan as its Speaker, we will know the House Republicans are more interested in doing the will of the Deep State, rather than listening to the people they were elected to represent.
