Blabbergate: A major institution springs a leak

Whoever leaked the draft Supreme Court opinion on Roe v. Wade, achieved her/his/its objectives: For one thing, all of the negative news stories about the maladroit Biden* Administration, about the Durham investigation leading to Hillary and Obama, about the Hunter Biden laptop and the "Big Guy," about open borders for the drug cartels and human trafficking, about the war in Ukraine, about inflation, about gas prices, about Elon Musk and Twitter -- you name ’em -- all were swept from view. MSM attention laser-focused on the search for the leaker or leakers.

Look, counting the nine justices, their 36 law clerks, and some secretaries, the universe of people with access to draft Supreme Court opinions is so small that even Chief Justice Roberts and the Court’s Chief Marshal should be able to find the leaker or leakers and administer a legal slap on the wrist.

One news story swept off the table that should concern every freedom-loving America is the Biden* Administration’s creation of the Disinformation Governance Board (DGB). By the way, DGB is only one letter off from KGB. Let that soak in.

The DGB, however, is nothing new. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Mussolini, Tojo, and Franco had their DGBs. Moreover Chicom President Xi and Russian Federation Putin are operating their DGBs right now, albeit under different names.

But what is extra alarming about Biden’s* DGB is that it operates under the Department of Homeland Security, one of the government departments that has armed employees. Censors with guns!

Why not put the DGB under the Federal Communications Commission or maybe the Library of Congress? They deal with information but don’t carry guns.

Just imagine being called before the DGB because you posted something on the Internet that did not meet with the DGB’s approval. Your DGB interrogator leans forward so his/her/its jacket opens a bit so you can see his/her/its holstered firearm. Intimidating? You decide.

Meanwhile, why did the leaker pick a seminal Abortion case to leak? Answer: Because Abortion is a national issue debated in each and every Congressional District. Ask yourself: How were the Democrats feeling prior to the Roe v. Wade leak? They were dismal and apparently resigned to losing the House and Senate come November. But now, post-leak, the entire pro-choice community is up in arms and is making plans for a huge pro-choice turn-out in each and every Congressional District.

Supposedly, the pro-life community will rally its supporters. But will the zeal of the pro-life community match that of the pro-choice lobby? Given the tepid, milk-toast leadership of the GOP and its many RINOs, maybe not.

Meanwhile, the Left is drafting legislation in Congress to replace Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, the two cases that legalized abortion. While not likely to become law before the mid-term elections, the pro-choice side will argue that the pro-choice Democrats in Congress must be left in place so they can finish their pro-choice legislation in 2023.

What the Supreme Court draft leaker did is so clever in so many ways that he/she/it might get a job reporting for The New York Times or The Washington Post or for Politico. When we learn the name of the leaker, it will be interesting to follow how History treats him/her or it.
