Atrange bedfellows: The wortst of friends

Recent statements by Russia’s Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky bring these two sayings to mind: "Politics make for strange bedfellows," and "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

According to the Russian News Agency, TASS, Putin endorsed Kamala Harris for President. In Scranton, PA, on September 23, 2024, Zelensky endorsed Kamala Harris for President. A case of two strange bedfellows trying to interfere in our presidential election.

Russia and Zelensky thinks Harris and self-identified "Knucklehead," would be good for Ukraine. .

Interestingly, during the recent U.N. meeting in NYC, both Zelensky and the British PM, KIeir Starmer met privately with President Trump but not with VP Harris nor with her running mate.

Putin is clear that his goal is the destruction of Ukraine, leading to the stationing of Russian troops on the Polish border. Interestingly, Polish spokespersons indicate that the Poles hope that Trump defeats Harris.

But wait. Our presidential elections should be about what is good for America. Surely, we learned that lesson from the Hillary Clinton-funded Russia Hoax of 2016 which led to a $25 million dollar Special Counsel Investigation that found, despite the efforts of two FBI love-bird agents and their bosses to frame Donald Trump, there was nothing to the Hilary-funded allegations.

So, we really do not need election interference by foreign leaders. We have enough domestic election interference on our own. For example, using lawfare to keep certain candidates off of State ballots. Donald Trump and Robert Kennedy, Jr. come to mind.

If lawfare doesn’t keep Trump off State ballots, how about using hate-filled legacy and social media to excite potential assassins? The late. Thomas Crooks and the jailed Ryan Routh come to mind.

Another form of domestic election inference is for Border Czarina VP Kamala Harris and the Department of Homeland Security to throw open our borders, encourage a stampede of migrants to enter the U.S. illegally, then rigging driver’s license applications in 20 States so applicants are automatically registered to vote, and making sure they cast mail-in ballots with no proof of citizenship and/ or signature verification required.

And speaking of immigration, the U.S. needs young, well-educated migrants with good skills to offer. Not elderly, uneducated, low -skill migrants who have little time left to be productive and have a long time to consume costly taxpayer-funded public assistance programs.

Meanwhile, Putin, knows his current huge population advantage over Ukraine will prevail over Ukraine’s much smaller population. But Putin must also know Russia is, depopulating. And Putin, sensing his own mortality, must know Russia has only about a decade left to remain a world power.

Whatever happens, Putin is guilty of an enormous miscalculation: He underestimated Ukraine’s resistance and overestimated the combat effectiveness of his own military.

Meanwhile, America waits for whatever October Surprise the Harris/Walz campaign has for Trump/Vance or vice versa.

While meeting with Zelensky, President Trump said Russia and Ukraine are fighting a war that should never have happened. If Harris, the favorite of both Putin and Zelensky wins, the war will drag on. If Trump wins who knows what will happen? We live in historic times.
